The Fédération des parents francophones de Terre-Neuve-et-du-Labrador is established;

1994
The Centre scolaire et communautaire Sainte-Anne de La Grand'Terre is inaugurated;

1996
Recognition by the provincial government of the right of francophones to their own French-language school board;

1997
Signing of the Canada/Newfoundland Agreement dealing with governance of French-language schools;

1999
A provincial Order-in-Council is signed by the government, designating May 30th as the Journée de la francophonie terre-neuvienne et labradorienne;

2004
Newfoundland and Labrador celebrates 500 years of French presence in the province.
